Dear Friends of Africa,

The WAI Africa Foundation is a registered non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to transforming lives in Africa. The Foundation is committed and has a vision to improve the livelihood of the 42% of Africans who have no acess to clean water. Every day, nearly 9000 children die due to problems arising from drinking contaminated water. Women and children walk for miles carrying heavy buckets of contaminated water, drawn from rivers and ponds where domestic livestock also drink from. In fact, during dry season women spend countlesss hours looking for drinking water ... time that would be well spent caring for their babies and the sick if they had readily available source of water within reach. Solving this problems will not only save millions of lives that are lost through diseases, it will also allow women and children live more productive and healthy lives. Unlike in Asia where 40% of the water resources have been harnessed, in Africa the comparable figure is only 4%. The WAI Africa Foundation seeks to partner with individuals and institutions worldwide and use new and improved water harvesting and access technology to reach millions of households with clean water, one village at a time.

We welcome you and your company to join us and participate in this very important quest. It is a shame that this problem still persists. Our solutions are long-term and go beyond just providing clean water resource. We will go a step further and work with national and international orrganizations that specialize in water catchment area rehabilitation and management, building the capacity of local communites to better preserve their soil and water resources.

You can assist this effort in several ways: (1) by providing financial support, expert advise or technology that would assist these poor rural people; (2) supporting knowledge generation and education outreach to the communities that will encourage them to take charge and protect their environment more effectively ; and (3) funding a water well that will be named in your honor or in honor of your designee. Every support provided will be acknowledged and used efficiently. A network of country experts in the field will ensure all the projects are implemented well and on time
