PRIORITIES
The WAI AFRICA Foundation will continue to achieve its mission by harnessing and catalyzing strategic public and private sector investments from local and external partners, including Africans in Diaspora, in the following major areas:
1. Water:
* Mobilizing financial and technical skills in water resource management and utilization that allows for more efficient use of water in agricultural and non-agricultural activities;
* Working with local and international organizations to drill water wells and ensure a sustainable supply of clean water to promote health, agriculture and industrial development.
2. Agriculture:
* Working with local, grassroot organizations to identify critical barrier to agricultural growth and harnessing of local and international skills and knowledge to address these constraints by seeking sustainable solutions
* Helping vulnerable and poor populations inprove their agricultural productivity for increased food security and income generation.
3. Industries:
* Promoting investments in rural-based agricultural and non-agricultural industrial development to increase rural farm incomes through value -addition, agro-processing and light industry development;
* Expanding non-agricultural rural employment opportunities and reducing adverse rural-urban migration of young people by creating jobs in rural areas.
